Vanessa Zeleny

Vanessa is a passionate and empathetic psychologist, who initially started her career in Neuropsychology working with both adults and children with brain related conditions across various hospitals and in private practice. While Vanessa has provided expertise in assessment and diagnosis for many years, she is now moving beyond once-off client encounters, and instead choosing to provide therapy to support clients throughout their journey towards their goals. As such, she has also embarked on completing an additional master’s degree, this time in clinical psychology. Vanessa is currently practicing under the supervision of a senior clinical psychologist as part of her studies towards a Master of Psychology degree, specialising in Clinical Psychology, at the University of Adelaide

Vanessa’s interest in psychology began with a fascination with the way in which human behaviour and thoughts forms over time into what might be considered odd, unusual, or unhelpful. No matter how unique or different the presenting concern may seem—Vanessa approaches this from a place of genuine curiosity, compassion, and non-judgement. She also enjoys bringing humour into her work, and her main modalities of therapy include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy.

Vanessa has a particular interest in treating generalised anxiety, social anxiety, phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder, as well as other general mental health conditions such as depression and self-esteem issues.

Having worked in hospitals and healthcare, Vanessa is committed to a holistic and multi-disciplinary approach and is more than happy to liaise with your GP, psychiatrist, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech pathologists, dietitians, and other members of your treatment team.

Vanessa is a registered Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Vanessa consults at Blue Sky Psychology on Thursdays and Fridays.
