Our Privacy Policy

Your Privacy

What you share with us is treated with the utmost respect and care. Over the course of your time with BlueSky Psychology, we will record some personal information about your situation — and we understand that some of what you share may be deeply private. You can be confident that your information will not be disclosed to anyone outside our practice without your consent.

That said, we want to be transparent with you from the outset about the limits of confidentiality that all psychologists in Australia are required to observe by law. These are not discretionary — they are obligations placed on us by the Australian Government and the Psychology Board of Australia, and they exist in a small number of serious circumstances.

We are required to disclose information from your file if we receive a subpoena from a court or are otherwise legally obligated to do so. We are also required to report relevant information to an appropriate organisation if we have reasonable grounds to believe that you are planning to harm yourself or another person, that a child or young person is being sexually, physically, or emotionally abused, or that you are in possession of or intending to acquire a firearm in circumstances where this may pose a risk to yourself or others.

These situations are rare, and we would always aim to speak with you directly before taking any such step where it is safe and appropriate to do so. Our goal is to support your wellbeing — and transparency about how we handle your information is part of that commitment.

If you have any questions about your privacy or how your information is managed, please don’t hesitate to speak with your psychologist or contact us on +618 8212 3944 or at info@blueskypsychology.com.au.
