Janine Donaldson

Janine is a Clinical Psychologist and a Fellow of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists and College of Health Psychologists. Janine has worked in psychology and mental health for nearly 20 years, including public, private and non-profit organisations. This has given her invaluable experience helping people in all sorts of settings, such as multi-disciplinary health teams, government services, and coordinating projects to improve support for people with serious mental illness. Janine has many years’ experience in private practice and she works in communication with your GP and other practitioners, to make sure your needs are met.
Janine’s approach is warm, positive and non-judgemental; she enjoys working with people to help them understand their thoughts, feelings and behaviours. It can be a be a big decision to come and talk to a psychologist, and her first priority is to make sure you feel comfortable and secure to talk about … whatever you need to.
Janine is trained in supporting people in a range of treatment models, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, DBT, EMDR and Hypnotherapy. She is passionate about working collaboratively with you to choose the right treatment strategies and supports for you, to help you reach your own goals and achieve outcomes that are meaningful to you. Everyone is unique and we all have our own preferences and support needs.
Janine has experience supporting people with a wide range of issues including anxiety, panic, perfectionism, stress, sleep, depression, trauma, OCD, migraine, chronic conditions, women’s health, and more. This has also involved working with traumatic events, such as car accidents, assaults or medical trauma, which can often surprise people with how much they can affect us.
As well as treating mental health concerns her particular areas of interest also include migraine; and the impact that menopause/perimenopause can have on our physical and mental health.
